I know I am going to upset the diehard Alfie Boe Fans but i was disapointed in the choice of music. He has decided to switch his music genre to quickly and I feel he may have not brought some of his fans with him. If Alfie feel this is the best road to go down good luck to him. I have no problem with the voice as I feel he is so close to to Coln Wilkingson's Bring him home, But at times. Not sure if he had 100% backing at Bournemouth. Becky is a real find great voice hope to see more of her.
Comment by Elizabeth Challis on January 22, 2012 at 5:48pm Well, whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion and quite rightly so.... for ME, I felt it was perfect. Everyone I have spoken to about Alfie automatically starts singing "bring him home" which is a little bit annoying.. and I always say "but the man is so versatile" last night's concert demonstrated that 100pc. Alfie you were fantastice one of the best birthday presents I have ever had !!!! I will also NEVER get over the sight of my 73 year old white haired great grandmother.... MOTHER... up there in front of the stage shakin her booty HAHAHAH
BRILLIANT .. Best concert I have been to for years !!! Thanks Alfie xx
Comment by Elizabeth Challis on January 22, 2012 at 5:50pm OH I SHOULD ADD... my mother who is also GREAT grandmother was shakin her booty to your versions of Kashmir and her sister was standin there with great big ploppy tears rolling down her face :-)
Comment by Tennisaint on January 22, 2012 at 6:01pm If you look at the last two Albums their are a number of great songs which would have brought the house down we had none. People were leaving well before the end I did not as for me he is better than what I saw on the night.
Comment by Gillian Trim on January 22, 2012 at 9:31pm I couldn't agree more with Elizabeth Challis. We saw Alfie's concert in Plymouth on Friday evening and thought he was brilliant. Naturally we love the music that he is usually associated with but really enjoyed the surprises of the evening demonstrating his passion for all music. Loved Kashmir and his encore - can't wait to see what his future albums will have in store for us all.
Comment by Tennisaint on January 22, 2012 at 10:22pm LIKE LED ZEPPELIN FIRST TWO ALBUMS WERE GREAT NOT TO GOOD AFTER THAT

Comment by Jackie Gollop on January 23, 2012 at 9:36pm I have been reading the comments and think both sides have points, I went to see him in Les Miserables and to the Bournemouth show. I must say that I enjoyed 75% of the Bournemouth show but not so much the Led Zepplin part. Maybe I am just an old romantic! Let's see more of the Alfie we all fell in love with. xxxx
Comment by Jan Morris on January 27, 2012 at 2:00am Loving many types of music myself: classical (including the more popular operas), folk, pop, some rock (even some punk rock!), blues, jazz, some alternative country, I can't see why Alfie (or any artiste) would limit what they sing and record. Alfie could sing The Sex Pistol's "God save the Queen", as far as I am concerned, indeed, I'd rather that than the awful Hushabye Mountain or If I Ruled the World (yuk). You might be interested in the link below which will take you to Wikipedia where some good soul has tried to list all the world music types - there are thousands of them, so I hope Alfie will broaden his scope and have a crack at lots of singer-songwriter/folk. Why not some Baez, Bowie, Bush , Cohen, Costello, Dylan, Lennon and McCartney, Mitchell, Simon, Weller, et al? Coming from Bristol, how about some Portishead, Massive Attack, or even Phantom Limb who are a brilliant band of musicians with a fabulously talented singer (Yolanda Quartey, who can cut diamonds with her voice). Don't limit yourself Alfie, do what you want to do, it's your life! J xx http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Types_of_music
