Hi Alfie,
I'm writing to say thank you in a big way because your Les Mis performance , the hysterically funny Youtube clips, and everything you do with Matt L. has given me so very much pleasure since I had the incredible privilege of catching the Les Mis 25th Anniversary on Georgia Public Television. I have marveled at your performance, not only your beautiful voice, but your ability to "sing" with your eyes and your smile. I have had tears in my eyes as you sing the epilogue, especially the lines, "on this page I write my last confession. Read it well when I at last am sleeping. It's the story of those who always loved you. Your mother gave her life for you and gave you to my keeping." I've had tears in my eyes from laughing, especially at the wonderful, happy, hysterically funny Youtube with Matt Lucas. My current favorite is watching you and Matt chasing around the theatre with the tin of chocolates. The first time I saw it I kept playing it over and over because I loved it so much.
I am fighting Stage IV breast cancer, which has spread to my bones, and nothing makes the days and the pain better as the vicarious pleasure I receive from watching you both perform.
Thank you, thank you for making my days seem to go faster, and the sun shine a little brighter, even on chemo or radiation days!
Congratulations on the birth of your son! My husband and I have a son and a daughter too, and they are the light of our lives. When you become a parent, and love it like we do, your entire life takes on a whole new purpose, and what seemed impossibly important before becomes unimportant in light of their beautiful faces.
